Intermediate Serger Sewing Class
Intermediate Serger Sewing Class – Gain confidence in handling challenging fabrics and techniques with our Intermediate Serger Sewing Class.
We focus on these techniques:
- Tackling curves and corners.
- Gain the knowledge to navigate curves and corners with ease, minimizing thread bulk and achieving crisp results.
- Explore techniques like flatlock seams for activewear.
- Adding lace and ribbon to hems or seams.
- Using decorative threads.
- Rolled hems and creating decorative lettuce edges.
- Working with different fabrics: The class will dive into using your serger effectively with knits, wovens, and specialty fabrics.
This is a two hour class that includes a pattern or project component, where students can practice their new skills by sewing a simple item, such as a scarf, camisole or small bag.
Additional Information:
- We have various time slots that you can choose from for your convenience. Please do contact me to coordinate date and time
- We provide all materials related to making the samples with the serger including the fabric, specialty thread we might use and pattern or project component.
- You will need to bring to class: your serger, three spools of serger thread in any color, the manual and all the accessories that came with the serger.
- If you want you can bring any basic notions that you want to use, but it is not necessary.
- Class must be paid in full in order to take the class.
